Alex and Melissa

A sentence I never thought I would hear during an engagement shoot is "Did you remember the cheese?"

Towards the beginning of Alex and Melissa'a relationship, Melissa came down with a sickness. She was ill for quite some time and Alex showed his love in one particular way. By making grilled cheese sandwiches. When I heard this story, I immediately told the couple, "We should do grilled cheese sandwich engagement photos!" And so we did.

We had so much fun with Alex and Melissa, but the day was not without difficulty.The thing I love most about them is that no matter what happened, they continued to be their fun and goofy selves. Even though we had to endure many "jump in the car and get warm" breaks and a long wait for a truck to pull us out of the snow at one point (story to follow), that didn't stop them from having a great time. On our way to Mega Diner (one of their favorite date spots), I decided to have the couple pull over so we could get take advantage of the amazing sunset and try to get a couple silouettes. Because of the large amount of snow, I didn't realize that I pulled over into a ditch. But, even that didn't stop Alex and Melissa from being goofy and having fun. As we sat on the side of the road waiting, they used apps on their phone to make ridiculous videos. We laughed a lot.

Christianna- Senior photos

Christianna and I had a ton of fun frolicking through the park on this blistery fall day. It was cold but she was a trooper and hung in there so I could capture her with this colorful backdrop. It didn't take long to get some great shots with her natural beauty and amazing smile. I hope you enjoy her story as much as I do!

Josh and Ally

I had never met Josh and Ally before I arrived in Indiana for this beautiful wedding on the lake. But, i have probably never felt more comfortable with a couple as quickly as I did with them. They told me right off the bat that they trusted me and told me i could do whatever i wanted. Which is a pretty scary statement. I am quite liable to end up in a tree or on a roof with with a statement like that. But, I hope their trust in me is rewarded with their story. This young couple is very much in love and it is obvious from the moment you meet them. They are a blast to be around and they laugh…a lot!

Kalin- Senior photos

Sophie and I spent an afternoon with Kalin exploring the Capitol Theatre in Flint,Mi. We were given access to the projector room, the balcony, the stage, and even the creepiest dressing rooms I have ever seen. It is one of the most beautiful and historic buildings in Flint. Oh man, the stories this place could tell.  So many great artists have performed here in the past. It is currently being restored but soon enough it will be back in business and I cannot wait to see my first show there!

This place made the perfect backdrop for Kalin's beauty, personality, and style. Kalin wants to go to school to study neuroscience and her dream is to one day become a forensic pathologist. I think I'm going to leave that to her and stick to taking pictures. I hope you enjoy our adventures as much as we did!
